Ruth Villanova-Ameiorsano, 74 passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville, NJ.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be private.

Ruth was born and raised in Harrison, NJ.  She moved to North Arlington, NJ a few years ago where she lived before moving to Kearny last year.

After graduating from Harrison High School in 1960, Ruth earned her B.S. in Psychology from Fordham University, New York, NY,   

Ruth was a Guidance Counselor for the Archdiocese of Newark. During her tenure, she worked in Saint Joseph of the Palisades in West New York, NJ; Our Lady of Good Counsel in Newark, NJ and then Hudson Catholic Regional High School in Jersey City, NJ. She also was an Adjunct Professor at Essex County College, Newark.

Ms. Ameiorsano is survived by her children, Jill Crawford (Joe) and Robert Ameiorsano; one sister, Florence Winkleblech and four grandchildren, Natalie, Joseph and Christopher Crawford and Madison Ameiorsano.

She was predeceased by her daughter Kim Ann McFarlane.
