Antonio (Tony) Giangregorio, 90, passed peacefully at his home in North Arlington, NJ on August 17th, 2019 surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
The funeral will be from the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Tuesday, August 20 at 9:00 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered in Queen of Peace Church, North Arlington at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the funeral home on Monday, August 19 from 4 to 8 p.m.
Antonio was born on April 13th, 1929 in Giovinazzo, Bari, Italy. After moving to America in 1959 to pursue his career in carpentry, he began to create a better life in Hoboken, NJ. He married Anna Minutillo on September 22nd, 1966. They had three children, whom he adored. He enjoyed spending time with his family, driving his 2001 Ford Taurus, food shopping at BJ’s Wholesale Club, and watching his grandchildren grow up.
He is predeceased by his parents, Graziella (Belmonte) and Mauro Giangregorio, as well as his adored siblings, Nicola and Rosetta, and niece Rosalia. He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Anna (Minutillo) Giangregorio, and his loving children, Mauro (Lucy) Giangregorio, Graziella (Tony) Rodrigues, and Marianna Giangregorio. He was the proud Nonno to his grandchildren, Emily, Gary, Adrianna, and Anthony. He was the cherished uncle to Maria Grazia, Marilena, and Maria Grazia. He is survived by his many brother and sister in laws, nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. We’d like to thank Grace Hospice, especially Sophia Pierre, Purificacion Novoa, and Christine Brown, for their endless care and compassion.
