Salvatore P. Curcio, 43, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville, NJ.

The funeral will be from the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. A funeral mass will be offered in St. Stephen’s Church, Kearny at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ. Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Sal was born in Belleville and has lived in Kearny for the last 40 years.

He wrestled for Kearny High School in the heavyweight division before graduating in 1993.

Mr. Curcio was an assembler for Goodwill Industries of Greater New York and New Jersey for the last 23 years.

He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Squadron 99 and a National Associate Member of the Marine Corps League.

Sal is survived by his parents James and Jeanette (nee Kania) Curcio and his friend,  Dorothy Streckfuss.
