Ruth M. Michaels, (nee Jackson) 84, passed away on Tuesday,  Oct. 17, 2017 at Job Haines Home, Bloomfield, NJ.

The funeral will be from the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ  on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. A funeral mass will be offered in St. Stephen’s Church, Kearny at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ. Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Ruth was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ. She moved to Kearny in 1974 before moving to North Arlington, NJ 25 years ago.

Mrs. Michaels was the bookkeeper for Santoro Lumber Company in Newark, NJ for 20 years before retiring in 2000.

She was a member of the North Arlington Seniors and the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W., Post 4697 also in North Arlington. Ruth was also an avid Bingo player.

She is survived by hers sons, John (Michelle), Andy (Lynn) and Gerry (Anita); two brothers, Frederick Jackson and Edward Jackson; two sister-in-laws, Esther Jackson and Gloria Jackson and seven grandchildren, Ryan, Carly, Jack, Adam, Danielle, Ashley and Bryan.

Ruth was predeceased by her husband, John G. Michaels; two sisters, Mildred Weigman and Florence Morrow and two brothers, Arthur and Andrew Jackson.
