Maria M. Katz, "Mary" (nee Grzegorzewski), 72, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown, NJ.

The funeral will be from the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Monday, March 26, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered in St. Stephen's Church, Kearny at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ. Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m.

Mary was born in Brauweiler, Germany and came to this country at 9 years old and lived in Jersey City, NJ. She later lived in Carteret, NJ and then Kearny before moving to Bayonne, NJ 10 years ago.

She was a Hairdresser at First Lady Beauty Salon in Kearny for 40 years before retiring 2 years ago.

Mrs. Katz is survived by her husband, Steven Katz; one daughter Carri-Lynn Primavera and her husband Eric; one son, Joseph Kociolek and his wife Tracy and one step-daughter, Rachel Greiner. She was the sister of Isabel Ferrulli and Wesley Grzegorzewski. She also leaves behind 5 cherished grandchildren.
