Jose Carlos Poncio, Sr., 59 passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 in Newark, NJ.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Monday, July 17, 2017 from 4 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 7:15 p.m. Cremation will be private.

Mr. Poncio was born in Curitiba, Brazil and immigrated to this country in 1981. He lived in Roselle, NJ then Newark, NJ before moving to Kearny in 1998.

He is survived by his children, Jose Carlos Poncio, Jr. and his wife Nicole, Christopher Poncio and his wife Carolina, Giovanna Poncio and Joseph Poncio. He was the brother of Luiz Fernando Poncio and Sandra, Sirlene and Silmara Poncio. He was the beloved grandfather of Christian and Mya Poncio.  He was the son of Jose Francisco and Maria Alexandria Poncio.
