John Marflak, Jr., 81, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2017 at his home in Kearny, NJ.

The funeral will be from the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Stephen’s Church, Kearny at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ. Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Mr. Marflak was born and raised in Newark, NJ. He has lived in Kearny since 1959.

He was a driver for Care Connection in Kearny for 10 years until 2003. Prior, he served as a Warehouse Supervisor for Koppers Company in Newark, working there for 35 years until they closed down in 1991.

John is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Hansen) Marflak; two sons, John Marflak (Nydia) and James Marflak (Nilda); six grandchildren, Melissa, Alexandra, Elizabeth, Rebecca, Philip and James Marflak and one great-granchild, Jordan Avilles.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Saint Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center.
