Mr. Dalzell you were a wonderful neighbor, I remember sitting on your porch and talking with all the kids that lived on our block. Rest in Peace I know you are in the arms of God.

One of the nicest, most genuine people I've ever had the pleasure to meet. I remember fondly the long days and nights of the St. Cecilia's parish carnival and Hughie's steadfast dedication and energy. I always made sure that he knew he could count on me for whatever he needed. I will certainly miss him. Prayers to his wonderful family.

So sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. He certainly was an icon at Saints. I can still see him running around the auditorium during bingo. My deepest condolences to you and your family. He has touched the lives of so many people. God bless.

My friend Hugh gave me one last chuckle. On Thursday I was going to a meeting. I picked up my partner in crime, Mary Torres, and hit the radio. This really crazy music came on....kind of electric polka. We looked at each other and laughed. I said, "Where's Hugh Dalzell when you need him?" We all know he loved to and took every opportunity to show off his dance skills. I hope you are Peabodying your way to heaven dear friend. A life well lived.

According to Morris Schwartz, Death ends a life, not a relationship. I am feeling many things...sad, relieved, grateful and I still feel your love. I am proud and lucky to be your daughter. Love never dies. Godspeed!

Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy.” Author Unknown

To Hughies' family, we will miss him very much (as will everyone who were fortunate enough to meet him). He was truly one of a kind and will be remembered as a man dedicated to his faith, family and friends.
All of you are a wonderful legacy to him and your Mom.
We ask our Lord to watch over you now and always.
We keep all of you in our prayers.

I remember how vital and strong Mr. Dalzell was through much of his life, amazed that at 90 he didn't look a day over 65! His quiet influence on the community, and especially his devotion to God and the church will also be well-remembered. As much as he loved his wife Winnie, whom I only met one time before her death, he was one of those great generation people whose resilience kept him going through the following years. I'm sure he'll be deeply missed by everyone who knew him!

I was saddened to hear of his passing, but as I sit here and read about Uncle Hughie's life in his obit, it fills my heart with happiness knowing he lived a long and fulfilling life. What a glorious man he was! When he passed, I can envision our Lord waiting for him at those pearly gates that lead into eternal happiness, and all the angels in heaven giving him a standing ovation. I can see him holding court with all of our family telling stories as only a true Irish man can. I will miss him, I love you Uncle Hughie, until we meet again.
